About this place
There’s pleasure in choosing yakitori one skewer at a time, but a selection makes for an easy start. Toritake’s skewers are listed as grilled over binchotan charcoal. Options include chicken thigh, liver, cartilage and chicken tail, with individual skewers priced at 200 yen; the chef’s selection of 6 skewers costs 1,000 yen. Some diners have found the skewers generously sized and satisfying. Try the selection first, then add more of any cuts that catch your eye.
For a final savoury bite, consider a grilled rice ball. One diner who ordered it at the end of a meal remembered its crisp exterior and soft centre. Shiitake mushrooms are served with a choice of sauce or ponzu, offering a change of flavour alongside the skewers.
Toritake offers both dine-in and takeaway. It is open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 17:00 to 22:30, and closed on Mondays and Thursdays. Payment is listed as cash only, so it is worth preparing before you visit.
